Starting in April, our blog will be presenting tips and resources for creating your best audition submissions.
Since Covid, the audition process has changed dramatically. Many have complained and been slow to, or unwilling to adapt. We must now be more than a mere performers. We need to have some understanding of production. Lighting sound, editing, and direction, are all part of the new skill set an actor must possess.
But there is good news: this new way of conducting auditions and callbacks, has greatly increased opportunities for actors. Casting can now see many more submissions, as they are not restricted by bringing in people physically. Performers from secondary markets can submit for national projects. There are a lot of new doors opening. But more opportunities brings more competition, as well. How can you get an edge on the competition? Learn to present yourself the best way possible, with the least strain on yourself, and your pocketbook.
